At what age did you/your children start watching scary movies

I started watching them at about 11. My younger sister, and my mother thought it would be great to let my daughter, who was 4 at the time watch the whole Halloween Marathon one year, we dealt with night terrors for 1 year. Has anyone ever done this to you?

i remember watching poltergeist and exorcist when i was around 4 years old.. my parents would close my eyes and ears during the too gory parts.. so i wasn't really affected.
