PS3 Remake and backwards compatibility?

What do you think about the PS3 remake trailer? I thought it looked very well done, although I'm still not sure if I want to purchase a PS3, they are very expensive and the backwards compatibility looks shaky at best. If you know what I mean let me know, for all I know, they may have fixed it.

Although the PS3 remake trailer looked very impressive graphically, it still did not convince me to purchase a PS3 over either of the other competeing consoles. Personally I would wait it out until we see what the PS3 can do over the next few months and see if it has the staying value. I know its hard to consider not getting it since future Final Fantasy games will be exclusively for the PS3 but waiting really would be the best option at least for a little while.
