New Theory of Religion and Atheism/Nihilism

I'm only a semi-Christian, and I do have some problems with the Bible, but when I saw this topic, "God Doesn't Exist" at www.mylot.com/w/discussions/1139930.aspx (hand-typed it, and had help with Maxthon Tabbed Browser), I have a theory of my own.
Christians know that Lucifer/Satan is known as, in my sister's words (who is also a pastor of my church), "liar and a deciever", and that he is the ultimate source of evil in the world. But it's also possible that he might be decieving others with a new tactic: disproving God and making humanity think AND believe that he doesn't exist by any and all means necessary. He could've persuaded certain people like Richard Dawkins to be Atheists and to spread the Atheist word that God doesn't exist, or the founder of the "Church of the Flying Spaghetti Monster" (popular on South Park).
Or it's possible that he is causing people to feel burnt out, depressed, feeling hopeless and helpless, until their belief in God is eradicated, and if carried to the extremes, may lead people to believe that nothing exists, hence the start of Nihilism, or the belief that life and everything in it is nonexistent.
This is because of our modern times when terrorism, the media, these so-called "Signs of the Times", scams and con artists, and all of the craziness of this world. But those are just my theories anyway.

Interesting ideas. The idea of Christ and Antichrist was created by man. In order to force a following, there had to be a choice between "good", and "evil". Choose "good" and political agendas would reign while you were supposedly smiled on by god, choose the "evil" (by remaining pagan and denying the pre-programmed Christian "belief" system for yourself) and face persecution by man and potential suffering from the so-called devil.
Has anyone considered that IF there were an antichrist, it may just well be that he/it reigns through the greatest deception of all...through those who have convinced themselves they are on the side of good (revering the bible etc) are the ones being deceived (still) and to the greatest degree? Just an idea to ponder.

Interesting start to your theory... Kind of anti-climatic though. Please don't take offense--what I'm saying is I started to follow you, then... you didn't build on it when you could have.
I'm not a literal Christian. I admire the likes of the Khristos and the Buddha and do my best to emulate them both. I really don't believe in a literal devil, but to be on the safe side, I do speculate that he/it could be real. Ultimately, all the messiahs tell us to believe, to live, to be charitable, to be non-judgmental, and ultimately to be so filled with faith that it never really becomes a question--make sense? Meaning that so many people proclaim and preach religion--regardless of which one, and I don't think any of them have genuine faith. To have genuine faith is to accept something as real, or to at least strongly say "could be" and to live your life as it it's true or "could be". After all, you aren't amazed are you when the tv comes on when you hit the remote are you? Nope, because faith and experience tells you that if you hit the button the tv comes on. It isn't all that amazing when we step outside and the sky's blue is it? Nope, because we've learned to expect the sky to be blue--this is how faith should be, not something you have to run around convincing others of, but rather living by example-- the Christ said, "Pick up your cross and follow me"--Christ by the way speaking through metaphor, examples, and actions the whole way through, didn't say "Tell everyone to believe in me." He said "(You) believe in me" and through his entire gospel told us to be examples like him...
Anyway, back on point, there was a movie where a character playing the devil said something like "the greatest trick I ever played on the human race was convincing them I don't exist." Devil or no, evil is still evil, and this God or that God, Love is still Love. We live in such very sad times, so black and white and so extreme. For instance, why can't I believe in both creationism and evolution? Why can't there still be a God if Darwin is right? (Fact is, Darwin was a firm believer in God, and wrote the most eloquent dedication to God in one of his works). People place their faiths in the wrong things such as Bibles or Qurans, when in fact, these are human written--God, by definition is a perfect being, therefore not in line with any or our preferences or imaginations...
I'll step off of my soapbox now. Good topic.

I'm an atheist who grew up in a family that was culturally Christian, but didn't accept any of the supernatural claims in the Bible. This is fairly common for Canadians of my age and younger. In fact it was a huge surprise to me when I started visiting online communities a few years ago, and discovered how religious the atmosphere is in the U.S.
I didn't really have much of a belief in God to lose in the first place, but I certainly don't think one has to be depressed or miserable to lose it. The more I learned about biology, history, anthropology, psychology and comparative religion as I grew up, the more it just confirmed my childhood opinion that the objective existence of God was exceedingly unlikely.
If the devil is working through Richard Dawkins, how do you suppose he does it? Does he talk to him directly, or does he take control of his brain when he speaks and writes? A good theory usually involves a logical explanation as to how it could work.
As usual I will say that, I have no issue with people believing in God, and if they feel they have had personal experiences that have led to their belief, then who am I to disagree.

God most certainly does exist.
Athiests will figure it out in their own time, and if they don't, that is their business.
