Yes, I am from Bangalore. If you read Deccan Chronicle, you will be reading lots and lots of my letters on ways to improving the Bangalore city. I write under the name "SRIKANTH SHANKAR MATRUBAI". The First thing to be focussed on in improving Bangalore is the Infrastructure bottlenecks especially the Transport. One of the best thing the Govt can do is to reopen the HAL Airport at least for Short haul flights and VIP Flights not only to reduce the congestion on the New Airport and its roads but also to use the rotting World Class Infrastructure in the HAL Airport. The potholes, humps, uneven roads and absence of asphalting of roads makes the daily travel a torture., The authorities need to tackle this on a priority basis. Heavy vehicles should be allowed inside the City only at nights. The BBMP should demolish all encroachments on Lake Beds and and on Valley Beds to allow free flow of Rain Water which will ensure no Floods occur during the heavy rains. The list will never end. but how about these for starters?????
