I used to feel this way about my sister a lot when I was younger. When I got older I not only learned to stick up for myself when it was needed, but I also learned that a lot of the time my older sister was just trying to look out for me. Older siblings sometimes feel responsible for their younger siblings and there can be times when their advice comes off as bossy. The best thing for me to do when this happens is to explain my side of things and make compromises. For instance, if we both wanted to use the car on the same day I would ask if she could drop me off where I needed to go and then pick me up when I was finished or when she was available. Or I would also just ask to use the car at another time if it was possible. Sharing really was the key to us getting along. We both had to be willing to share what we had. Now that I am older, I consider my older sister to be one of my best friends. We often laugh and joke about how we used to act when we were younger but we also know that we will always be there for each other when things get tough. Sibling rivalry is a common thing and I think all siblings go through it from time to time. Just remember that you are family and keep an open mind about things.
