Question on proxy servers

I've been wondering for a long time now,what is the reason why most pts/ptc programs do not accept users behind proxy servers and considers them cheaters.
Anyone can shed some light on this one for me?

Its most probably because they can't IP ban you if you do something wrong as hiding behind proxies prevent this.
