The reason your son has gotten bored of runescape is because he Likely never became a member. I can see why you wouldnt pay, the whole "vidio games are bad for kids, why should pay 5 sdollars a month for something that is bad for my child?" well go here runescape.com---Parentts's guide---Educational Benifits This is why runescape is a great tool to help a child learn to divide their time

Would you happen to mean you were paying the 5 dollars a month, or do you call him a member because he just plays the game period. A member is referd to people who pay-to-play

i am afraid to say that runescape is unique, there aren't any mmorpgs like it that offer a free version that is unlimited (in terms of how long you can be a free to play player). adventure quest has free servers, but from what i have heard of it, the free servers are usually full and the game isn't a patch on runescape. i am afraid that when you leave runescape to go onto other mmorpgs it is usally to something like WoW for the better graphics, though WoW do not offer any free gaming at all.

There are two mmorpg's that are completely free - you won't ever have to pay a penny to play them. The first one is called Flyff, which stands for Fly For Fun. And the second is Maple Story. I've never played Maple Story, but it is from Gala - the creators of Flyff. I did play Flyff, and the graphics are pretty amazing, as is the storyline. But, it's true that you get what you pay for. The servers going down was the biggest issue. They may very well have fixed that problem by now, as I quit playing some months ago.

What i ment about member was the one where you pay 5 dollars a month to get the whole game. In runescape, your son is referd as a non-member.

Oh ya there is another. Guild wars. You have to buy the disk and everything, but there are no monthly fees or anything. Runescape is still the only one that you just log on and play.
