Low Disk Space what is the Problem

Dear mylotters, I always encounter the problem of low disk space in my system. My computer has WindowsXP and it is always the problem to store any thing in the computer. always indicating low space. I use internet almost every day and I make always a point to remove all junk. Virus scan is also there but still I suffer the same. What do you think must have been to cause such inconvinence?. suggest how can I get rid of this problem?

Have you tried scanning for spyware? Also, what kind of anti-virus are you running? If it's freeware, they usually can't detect trojans or worms because sometimes, these viruses affect the anti-virus itself. You can also check the processes running on your computer (you can view this using the Task Manager). Sometimes, a lot of processes are running and they eat up your memory.
Then, do disk scans and defragmentation to free up some memory too. Remove any files that you don't need anymore too.

thanks for your response. I have virus scan 7.1, Mcafee security instelled in my computer. Even if i free some space by deleting all temporary files there is no change in disk space. It is countinually going low. what exactly is spyware? Is it safe to get instelled in any computer? If i do then do you think my problem will be solved. as we have 10 gb hard disk space. suggest kindly from which reliable web site can i down load this anti virus scan. please help me out of this problem. Thanks in advance.
