I have been busy with school lately. I always go home stressed out. I tried sleeping but I can't. My mind does not stop thinking what to do next. I'm exhausted. My face changed, I don't know how to cope up with my tight schedule. Maybe some of you can help.

Argie, first think that is the stress is real?
You can deny to feel and to reject the stress if you are naming it stress!
And well your mind is creating this? Or you are allowing that to happen?
I think you can easily stop this by just saying no to mind that I AM NOT GOING TO FOLLOW YOU!
Think little that IT IS YOUR MIND so it should be under control of you and you! Then why are you allowing mind to control you?
The total rejection of this activity will lead your mind to become cool and calm; but do it with relaxed mood, with little smile as well as if you need then speak loudly also, for a while ...

If so then you have to work on yourself quickly to remove that and it is possible! You must become little aware that you just reject such suggestions which are not boosting you up or want to pull you down!
Just try to ride over your mind and you will see that your winning would be a fact!

I often have the same problem. For me, getting my brain focused on something else helps. Even if it is just reading a silly book for ten minutes before going to sleep. Or watch a comedy show or part of a movie.
You might want to learn some meditation techniques as well, to help you deal with this.

you may use the so called system of time management. this is like budgeting your money for the week which you can do the same for your life. do not cramp everything in one day. make use of chunk chores where you do little of something that you would need to do for the next week .

School can squeeze out a lot of energy from a student. Being through that before, I didn't let it get the better of me or else my health would have suffered, or my precious sanity. Anyways, aside from sleeping, have you tried anything that can divert your attention or mind from schoolwork? My greatest stress buster is singing the videoke. It relaxes me big time and it directs my mind somewhere else happy. Think of a hobby like cross stitching or a sport that can help ease your mind from worries even for a while. Also, try taking stresstabs. It's a combination of B complex vitamins plus iron that could help you out fight stress. Goodluck! :)

There are many stress management techniques and self-help books. Some stress is good for us, in fact. Especially for a student, it is easier to manage. Other than lessons, tutorials and extra curriculur activities, it is suggested to slot in some break time to do something out of the school activities. Perhaps watching tv, reading the papers, reading a story book, play games, chat on the phone, etc. etc. If you need to, have a short nap. Do some deep breathing exercises. Go for a cold
shower. Whichever it is, it is better to have enough sleep every day. Sleep early if you need to wake up early for class. Drink enough water and have adequate breakfast.

Someone once told me that the best way to fight stress is to confront what is causing your stress......So is it schoolwork? then do it...Is it a chore? finish it...cause you'll see, Argie, if you're not worrying about anything, you won't be stressed out....Relax..

Hi Argie, Do you believe in Indian Yoga/Pranayama. If yes, then try this one. You will find result positive. As I do it daily so I am suggesting you. But be sure.
Anulom-Vilom Pranayama: Prana breathed in through left nostril represents energy of the moon, which symbolizes peace, and has a cooling effect. Hence for purification of Nadis (vein/nerve), beginning of this Pranayama has to be made by the left nostril. Close the right side nostril with the right hand thumb. Inhale slowly through the left nostril till the lungs are filled. Then close the left nostril with the second and third fingers. Open the right nostril and exhale through it. Repeat this exercise slowly in the beginning, and with practice, increase the speed. When you are able to practice this exercise for a long time, inhale with as much force as is possible for you, then exhale also forcefully. This practice of inhalation and exhalation alternatively through the right and left nostril, as indicated above with force, should be done for 3 minutes. If you feel tired, rest for sometimes and resume. Regular practice will enable you to do this Pranayama for 10 minutes. After some practice being established, this Pranayama should be done for 5 to 10 minutes daily, depending upon one’s capacity. You can do this at morning and evening hour empty stomach. Within 2-3 days you will experience deep sleeping. To know more details about Pranayama, please visit site also at Pranayama section : www.divyayoga.com.

Soft music helps me. I once put together a tape (back when cassettes cost less than CDs) of mellow songs from some of my organ CDs (I like organs), and started using it to lull myself to sleep when I was having trouble getting to sleep.
Once my grandfather was having back pain, and my grandmother told me to go get my tape. I popped it in the deck and sat with him for awhile. Halfway through the third song, he was snoring.
A neighbor's daughter got braces when she was thirteen or fourteen, and was in so much pain she cried frequently. I made a copy of the tape for her, and she told me a week or so later that she hadn't gotten to hear it all the way through! :)
If there is an artist you like who writes a lot of soft music (my favorite is Norah Jones), you might put together a compilation for yourself, and see how it works. Don't give up, sweetheart!

P.S.: Laughing at dumb jokes is still good for your health!!!

Hai dear friend,
A long time ago I also had a similiar situation like this. And i share this with my best friend.
He was a medical student. He said that it was not an disease but psychological problem. Also he told that one of his friend's brother is a doctor who treats diseases like these. We went to meet him and he adviced me that to concentrate in a particular thing the best way is to follow spiritualism. He also told me that there are no medicines for this kind of a problem. At first i am not satisfied with him. Later i followed him because of no other way. And now no this problem too much. But have because of laziness.
If you can try to follow this......
Also think about future.
Take care dear......

The Most worst thing nowadays means stress.Stress makes some of them getting mad, getting heart problems etc....To Release from stress there is only one way i.e every day make a habit of doing YOGA,ZIM,AEROBICS etc....YOGA,ZIM,AEROBICS makes lot of relief from stress.Personally I prefer atleast make a habit of doing small exercise or dance to move the body and stimulate the each part of the body and makes a body active.

Yeh, we are facing this stress every day. I think level of stress has increased for almost every one internationally.
In this fast modern age, there is a lot of stress. Every day there is something. These could relate to family problems, job related issues, spouse or girlfriend and boyfriend problems, money problems, health related anxieties etc.
In fact there are numerous issues that linger on a person's mind.
The best one can do is to think them as transitory and a way life. One can take exercise, talk to friends or experts, take psychiatric help, change diet, go to church or other worshiping place, do meditation, discuss with one's family members etc.

I know exactly how you feel. I feel like my brain never shuts down. I can't sleep at night. My husband and I are trying for a baby, building a house, needing money for the house and the bills to come, my mom and sister are having problems...it goes on and on. I just try to relax and listen to music or read. I like to write too. My brain still seems to go nonstop though, no matter what I try to do.:)

I also meet such problem. The same as you and I'm a student now and preparing for my final exam too.Too much pressure put on me make me hard to breath sometimes. The common solution is to shift the nervous mind for a while. For example, you can listen some music or jokes;you can go shopping or go to carnie. When you are in them, you will forget all your stress at once.If you can't sleep at night,I suggest you listening some music with words. In short, you's better shift you attention to other matters.Good luck to you.
