Tattoos

When you get a tattoo, do you want something that has meaning or, just something cute, nice, or what exactly are you looking to get out of the tattoo. I have 2 tattoo's both have meaning to me. The one on my back is a butterfly, it means to me that I hve the butterflies, my other one is tribal with the roman numberal 3, and its because my son is a third generation in his family.

Hey girl! Well you already know I have tattoo's, but I am not sure if I have ever told you the reasoning behind them. I have a total of 4. The one on my ankle is two Peace Lilies, it was my first and I choose the lilies because they are my favorite flower. My second one is a tribal band that has a heart in it with two butterflies across my lower back, the butterflies represent my children and the heart represents my love for them. My third one is thumper on my lower abdomen, it represents one my nicknames I had when I was younger. My fourth and final one is on my butt and is a rebel heart with two roses underneath it tied with a ribbon and it says "sweet cheeks" across the heart, the rebel heart represents my southern heritage, the two roses represent me and my husband, and "sweet cheeks" is my nickname from my husband.

Thats cool. You didnt tell me the significance behind them. Sweet cheeks, what a cute nickname! I love tattoos, I want another one, but havent figured out what I want yet. I guess I will wait until I know... :)

I have five tattoos, and all of them have meaning to me. All of mine are symbols from other languages and cultures, so they have those meanings and then my own meanings as well. For example, my first tattoo is an ankh, which is the Egyptian symbol for life. I got that tattoo on my 30th birthday to remind myself that life doesn't end at 30, it just gets better. :)

Thats cool. I figure most people some meaning, but I have talked to a few friends who just thought, it was cute, and really didnt care what it was, it was just a flower or something. I like to see what meanings tattoos are, its very interesting. I like the fact your tattoos do nto only have meanings because they are symbols, they also are meaningful to you :)
