seriously guys. I really have a HUGE pain in my neck. I was fine this morning. I sat on the couch and could feel my muscles tightening. After about five minutes i couldn't move my neck . Now i can barely get off the couch without major pain. I took a hot shower (as hot as I could stand it), put icy hot on the area, heatng pad. Nothing seems to be working. Any ideas on how to relieve the pain. Hubby had to go to the store because i cant turn my head to drive. GRRR. This is a HUGE hassle. Makes it hard with three kids a puppy, a cat and five kittens in thehouse. YIKES!!!

Try some ibuprofen and a heating pad. work on turning your neck slow and easy to help relax and stretch the muscles.
A neck rub of the tight muscles would help too.

Well, if you have a clean sock try putting rice or beans into it. Tye the end so the beans or rice can't get out and stick the sucker in the microwave for about half a minute or so. The beans or rice should get warm, microwave it longer to warm it up more.

You need to get any tissue swelling down or the vertabrae won't go back in to place. So Ibuprofen and an ice pack. Leave it on for about 15 minutes.
Take a regular size bath towel fold in half length-wise, the roll it up tight like a jelly roll, lay down and put it under your neck so that you head is slightly tilted back and you feel your neck stretch a bit. Relax as best you can for 1/2 hour.
Then put heat on it for 15 minutes and then do the towel again.
Alternate this whole scenario as many times as you can until bedtime and it should be a little sore but good to go tomorrow.
Good luck, I can sympathize :D
