We just had our family reunion last weekend. I normally go but this year the place they had it was too far away and with gas being so expensive I skipped it. But I normally always go. I was just wondering if you all do anything different at your family reunions to make them more interesting?
We sign in (so we have addresses for the invitations next year) we say a prayer, eat, visit, vote for the next year, give out prizes for youngest baby, etc and then leave.
One year we took our karaoke but my Aunt made us turn it down. She was the president that year. The next year everyone wanted to know why we didn't bring it. But it was alot of work and all my Aunt wanted it for was the microphone.
I was just curious if you all do anything fun at your reunion? My mom suggested we do a script next year. But I doubt we could come up with something.
Any thoughts on how to make it more interesting?

No unfortunately, every one just talks and eats lol. I love singing myself so with my Hubby we do fun recordings and stick on Youtube lol. I wish I could live with him full time as we enjoy lots of arty projects and hobbies. My family are a bit more conventional and like to watch reality shows, but my Sister is a bit like me, she is arty lol.

It's been years since I've been to a family reunion but all of the ones I've been to we played different games. One I went to everyone brought the oldest family photos they had and made a list of who wanted copies - made up a really nice photo album of several generations long gone.

I don't like family reunions because our family is so distant from one another. There is always trouble every time the whole family gets together so I don't go to them any more. I'm not sure how it can be made fun because someone is always out there to try and make the whole thing miserable. Then when we all leave, everyone starts talking about one another. The only way that I see that it could be made fun, is if everyone there would make sure to be nice to one another and not talk about them when they leave or judge them for how they live their lives now.
