Are you fond of eating Japanese cuisine? Chinese or Mexican, American or Italian? Since I'm a Filipino, there are dishes like Kare-kare that I like. In fact this is my favorite dish. I also like Pastas(italian) & pizza. I like curry but which is I think from India. Are you really particular when it comes to food?

im not really particular when it comes to food. i like the uniqueness of different cuisine. as a filipino, i would never get tried of filipino cuisine. we got great variety so you wont really get tired of it. but of course you wouldnt pass the chance of knowing what other country and places could also offer. i think filipino food has now been influenced by other tastes and recipes. from other countries, i like mexican with the tacos and buritos and quesadillas they have, italian with their pasta and pizza that just so great, chinese which are very distinct with the siopao, siomai, noodles and chop suey, japanese with their gyudon, teriyaki, maki... i may have tried others like persian food, korean, american and others but i will still prefer to have my own filipino cuisine.

i really am not a picky eater.
once i find a certain food as great tasting, then i'm eating. it doesn't matter from what culture it came from.
But i am filipino. and once in a while, i look for "that filipino taste". i also like kare-kare. i like pancit. i also like the way filipinos cook spaghetti-that really sweet sauce, instead of a sour/more tomato-tasting sauce. lol..
but in general, i think food, whatever culture has influenced it, is one medium where people from all over the world can appreciate.
have a nice day msvenzon. =D

Hi d00d00! You are right, our type of food is influenced by other's culture but a little influence from other countries makes it more exciting because we can experiment more on our food. Anyway, food is a way of communication with others too. Thanks for your response!

i am a lover of filipino cuisine just like you... i don't like kare-kare though. hehe. i love pork barbecue (the way filipinos do it... hehe... with all the charcoal with our charcoaled faces.. hihi), the lechon (especially when it's paksiw), tortang talong (roasted eggplant and eggs fried), the delicious longganiza!, dried fish that most people hate and ofcourse... adobo... fish, chicken or pork.
i also love pasta... especially spaghetti and lasagna... yum!
i also eat cuisines inspired by china. like nooles and soups... anne

I'm actually quite adventurous when it comes to food. I like trying out different cuisine from different restaurants and I enjoy it a lot. I like food and now I need to lose some weight. The ones that I'e tried so far are: Japanese, Chinese, Italian, Indian, Korean, Vietnamese, Thai, Mexican, and American. I still have a lot to try.

Ooohhh.. i love food!
I'm from Malaysia I can take anything as long as it is within the confines of my religion (i'm muslim), so i don't take pork. But i love malaysian food, japanese, chinese, indian, italian (i love cooking italian food too!), American (western food), French (escargots), Thai.. the list can go on.
I'm thankful for my parents who have a try-before-you-die attitude, so we are exposed to alot of type of different foods.
Although, among all those foods, i have always wanted to try chicken adobo! haha.. i heard it's good. My mom's friend from the phillipines has promised to bring us around the best places to get filipino food when we go there but unfortunately, we haven't had the chance yet.
What is kare-kare? Oh, and anything spicy does it for me. I love spicy food. This discussion is making me hungry! :)

Hahaha! Way to go Shemah! Sounds like you really love food! =0 Kare-kare is a filipino dish consisting of eggplant, okra, banana fruit and it has peanut butter in it. My cousins in the US called it peanut butter soup. It's like mixed vegetables filipino version. I haven't tried chicken adobo mainly because I don't eat chicken. I'm a vegetarian! But we cook adobo too, using meatless products. Enjoy eating!

In India each region has it's own specialities when it comes to cuisine. I hope to eat try all local cuisines. I prefer home cooked typical indian meals consisting of cereals like rice, rotis, pulses,( dal), rajma dal is my fav., aloo ka parantha, gajar ka halwa ( sweetdish made of carrot). It's yummy. I also curry, cooked veggies, yoghurt, salad. I sometimes eat noodles, chocolate cake, ice creams in moderation and not quite often. I am not fussy when it coems to food.

I love Italian, Thai, and Chinese, but not necessarily in that order. I do not like Yugoslavian cuisine. I had a few East Indian dishes, I like them as well but have not had them that often. I am Canadian and I guess some of our dishes and those of America overlap, like hamburgers and french fries that I do not care about. However I love fish and chips, the old kind. I love salmon steaks, lobster, Manhattan Clam Chowder, and salads. So of my country's dishes, there are some I like and some I hate.

Thanks for your response Ashgun. You are definitely correct! We should like our own country's cuisine. Sometimes we just a like a little variation that's why we are excited with other type of cuisine. I also like chinese cuisine, all the noodles stuff. Again, thanks for sharing! Have a great day!
