i want to go outside the philippines and try my luck there, hoping i
can find a good job so as to support my family back home. i know its
still great to stay on your homeland but with the present economic
situation it is so hard for a low-middle class family to afford a
quality living here in the philippines.
given the opportunity i know i would leave this country and take a
chance on a foreign land.
if you would be asked, would you also leave your country of birth
just to find a better job and maybe have a better life?

Well, since our country seems to be in dire need. A lot of people are leaving to foreign lands in the hope of finding a better life. I really do not blame those who would like to leave the country. I just hope they would not forget their roots and make some effort to help improve the country. But as for me, I am not really inclined to work abroad. Although the lure of it is tempting, and I have been called a fool many times for staying, I just don't have the heart to leave. I may change my mind later, or maybe see the "light" but that is my stand for now. I'm staying.:P

i took up nursing as my second course so that i'll have better chances of going abroad. it seems like how much we want to stay here (i, for one, love dumaguete city and would love to stay here, the pay here is so far below what we could earn abroad. plus, as a young person, working abroad is also a perfect opportunity to travel and broaden our horizons ;)

Well, who wouldn't want to if the opportunity is already there? I will definitely grab it. I will never hesitate to leave my own country if it means that I'll be able to support my family better. For me, I'd like to work abroad but not stay there for good. When all our family debts are paid and I've saved enough to open a busines, I then can go back home.

yes. i will leave my country (soon) so that i can find a good paying job. I just think that there are better opportunities for available for me. To make a professional and personal growth at the same time. =D
i also think that when choosing to work at other countries, you get to become really independent. Test how far you can go and function all by yourself. =D

when I was a student in college, I think it is the best chance to work abroad, and I try to get a job that can let me work abroad.
but it is hard to get that kind of job for me at that time. then after two years work in my own country , I found I don't want to go to work abroad now.
maybe I lose the enthusiasm of work.
but now the only thing I want to do is work in local place and can earn a little money to affort myself.
I might get marriage this year, then I think I will never have a chance to go abroad .
but this will not affect my life now.
I can enjoy myself by my exsiting life and when you love some one and you have a family with him , you might change your attitude and try to stay with him.
as work abroad might let you leave him.

If I could give any advise to you it is is go for it but be careful!!!
So many asian woman are taken advantage of in western countries and arabic countries. Redused wages and often the job description is NOT as it is presented to you before you arrive. Check everything out very carefully and stay safe. AND best of luck and good travels!!!

A big yes... still looking for an opportunity. But the process is too complicated. You need a lot of money to prepare.
A headache sometimes.

i love our country and i love my life here. not really rich but i think my family and i are surviving. plus the fact that we do enjoy every moment of being together is already enough for us to stay happy and contented.
but still, i wanna try to be in another country. atleast find myself adjusting to another situation, meeting new people, having new experiences and experiencing winter (snow! yehey!). but it's not really a priority for me.
but when i met my boyfriend who is in sweden, i am not happy to know that i will be able to really have a life outside our country. i am sad to know that i am leaving on june28 to migrate to my boyfriend's homeland... but i also want to have a life with him.
i don't know what awaits me there... job, better earning.. all i know is that, i wanna be with the man i love the most... anne

If your motivation to go abroad is based on finding a better job or having a better life, you should think about it twice because you have ever heard about this phrase "grass often look like greener on other side than your side".
You can take a look this article "armed with degrees, they drive our cabs". Thus, you will get a different perspective.

However, if you would like to go abroad because of bad things in your birth country such as oppressions, war. Of course, going to foreign countries may be a better choice.
But it is up to you. I just want to offer some perspectives so that you can have a better decision.

When I was younger I loved to work abroad. I went to be a children's nanny for a family in Finland. It was great. They had three houses, one in the town, one in the country and a lakeside home. I used to enjoy going to the lakeside home with them. We had a nice warm sauna before swimming in the crystal clear and very cool lake. We did some berry picking. After the job ended I got an Inter Rail pass and went around Europe.
I got a working holiday visa for Australia. I did all sorts of different jobs and had lots of fun. In Sydney I worked packing paper into hand bags. It was in an area near the northern beaches. I had a wonderful time in most amazing national park. There were some very beautiful sandy bays to explore. I also worked in Cairns, dressed up as a koala collecting money for charity. This was great fun to do. The climate was very hot for it though.
I have children and dogs nowadays but I remember with fondness the work I did abroad. I think New Zealand would be the place I would be happy living and working in. I would enjoy the outdoor life style and walking opportunities.
