What will be your reply if your parents ask like this?

Hi friends, If you are in the age of twenties and you are in love with a person who wants to marry you and lead his remaining life with you happily,You too know him very well and you are also in love with him. At that time, what will you give reply to your parents if they ask like this "Do you need your parents or your lover?" My parents didnt asked me like that. But just want to know your thoughts and feelings.

I will think a lot before deciding as both the relationships are very important.I will ask my parents to meet the person whom i love so that they will understand that am right in choosing my partner whom i wish to live the rest of my life.
But if still my parents insist that they are not convinced and cant accept him ,hope i will wait for somemore time to proove my parents that my love is true and partner is a genuine guy.
I cant give up both parents and my love.

I agree with you. But what is the situation if they ask to reply any one only, then? I too need both of them and doesnt want to leave anybody....

I would have to say that I think they are being quite unfair to make me choose between them and the one I love and that it doesn't have to be that way. But if the question was phrased in such a way that it didn't sound like I was being made to choose between them, but rather being reminded to wait awhile, then I guess I would give in as a sign of respect for them.
