Well, I do hope people answer the door. I am one of Jehovah's Witnesses and I should say that it takes a lot of courage to go out and preach where people are apathetic.

In the old days it was a joke that Jehovah Witnesses were rude, always came at inappropriate times and you could never get rid of them. I think all of us have come a long way now and every one has learned valuable lessons in getting along with people and marketing. The people that come to my door now are very polite and personable. Even if we disagree, we find a lot on which to agree. For one thing, we are neighbors, so there is no need to be rude. I take their material and agree to read it (and I do). They know I am of another faith and neither of us is likely to change. We let the facts speak for themselves.

I'm not rude in the contrary, i welcome them as i would welcome any other visitor(s). Jehovah's witnesses are humans too you know. And it's my opinion that these people have in a good sense a very nice belief, it's only a pity that it isn't that hard to imagine that people who want power over lots of people often forget other people do and can influence friends, like stated in the book of dale carnegie " How to win friends and influence people " which was a bestseller.
Friendly greetings,
Wim

As a Jehovah's Witness, I hope people aren't rude but many are. It takes a lot of guts to go to a strangers door!!!!
My husband and I are in a Spanish congregation and therefore focus our preaching on the Spanish people in our area. As obvious Americans, the Spanish speaking people listen to use more than the english because it's obvious we have put forth more time and effort into telling them our important news.
Agape!
