I once read about a very promising young man whose family expected him to do great things and become someone big in the business world. To all their horror and disappointment, the young man choose to serve his community instead and live among the poor. His mother cried and his father didn't speak to him. He served in a community wherein the people were suspicious to him and didn't take his presence very kindly. At one time he felt tired and burned out and felt like giving up because his effort are not appreciated anyway. Yet, he never gave up but became more inspired to help , again to the utter consternation of his family. The young man gave up a lot to show he cares and love to others by serving them with all his heart and expecting nothing in return. At the end of the story, it asked us what are the things or extent that we are willing to do to help, love, care, show compassion for those who are unloved and unlovable? Have you done anything like what the young man did? I thought to myself and I realized that I haven't done anything close to it at all.

Hi, Your point is good.Even I havent done anything. But I guess there is a time for everything.Leaving all your dreams and your other responsibilities towards your family, there is no point serving society. One should serve society when he has grown enough to take care of his loved ones and his life. Then a person should start giving back to society which he has taken since a long time from the society....

I do agree with you. Once our obligation to our family is fulfilled then we could start serving society. However, for me I could do the same at the same time too. Though, I can't do as much as the young man, but just the same, I intend to make a difference. Thanks for responding!
