Could you get referrals through traffic sites?

Have you experience getting referrals from promoting your referral links to different traffic sites? I'm currently promoting my referral links to traffic sites even rotator and i'm still hoping to get referrals from those sites. Do you have any idea how to get referrals? Where did your referrals came from?

i think its just wasting your time.i tried before but worst result.if its work,than this forum would not having so many refer links.you can join any social network to promote your refer links,its may result better than traffic sites.
