What is going on??

What is really going on behind the scenes at Anfield?? Rumours of a bust-up between new owners Hicks/Gillet and Benitez over transfer funds are making us sweat.
Do fellow reds fans think that a Benitez exit is on the cards? Will we sign the players to push for that elusive premiership crown?
Personally I think that the likes of Voronin, Benayoun and Forlan aren't good enough to wear our strip and will just turn our club into a laughing stock....
Any thoughts welcome...

See this kind of post all over the net...
There is no problem, there is a plan in motion and it is being followed.
Stage One: Secure our main players (Gerrard, Alonso, Reina, Carra), so as we know they will be part of the 5 year plan
Stage Two: Source players that are of the quality and mindset to be a Liverpool player (but don't pay over the odds).
Stage Three and further: TBC
It is only 19th June, the Spanish League (along with Italy and the Premiership) only finished on Saturday, Rafa knows the players he wants, and by the sounds of it, and also looking back at the January Window, most of these players are based in La Liga... Give it until early next week, and we will see some movement

I'm not impressed by the targets we're currently being linked with a few weeks ago it was Tevez & David Silva who were realistic (We were linked with Henry & Eto'o but bit unrealistic) Now it looks like we'll sign Benayoun. I think he's a Luis Garcia type player but he's not as good. We need 2 wingers and 1 or 2 stikers. Not another center/attaking midfielder.

You'll eventually get some decent players in. It seems that benitez has focused his attention on getting youth players to come in and join the squad. In the future, Arsenal, United and Liverpool are going to have QUALITY temas.

I think the main problem is the new guys have come in without a great plan. They seem to be looking at it as a business exercise. I dont think Rafa is going to like them. You do however have a great youth team and some superb players already in the squad, like gerrard and alonso and crouch. I think you'll come 2nd next season even without new people coming in. Do you think tevez will come in?

I am afraid that I cant share your optimism... we dont have the strength in depth to break the top 2 without some serious quality coming in.... look at Utd - they have already spent £50, inc buying 2 Ronaldo-type players so they can afford to rest their big players (which, incidently, the rotation of Ronaldo almost cost them the title this year IMO)
When Gerrard doesn't play then there isnt enough creativity, admitedly if Garcia and Kewell can stay fit this year then we'll be in a better position...
Personally I don't think Tevez will come - I think he will be swayed by a move to Inter

I'm a United fan myself and while i'm pleased with Anderson and Nani coming in (although Nani by all accounts doesnt look too good under Under 21's) I still believe United themselves lack a quality striker. Liverpool do have a really good youth team (beat us for the Youth cup) i think Rafa knows what he's doing, he just needs to stop relying soooo much on unknowns (Gonzalez, Arbeloa, Sissoko. When he buys players through links in Spain it tends to work out. I like the look of Alonso and Reina. With a TOP winger, like a new Robben or Ronaldo or something and a decent 20 goal a season striker you guys will come 2nd next season. I can feel it. Chelsea arent looking too hot this summer, Pizzaro is not great and they're currently chasing Ben Haim, who again is average. So it'll be Liverpool i think who will be the better challengers to united.
