Did you enjoy breastfeeding?

I have to say that I am not impressed with breastfeeding. I just don´t like it. I´m doing it because it is the best thing for my baby, but I really hate it. Has anyone else felt this way?
Before my second son was born (my firstborn only had a bottle, due to medical issues), everyone said how great it was to breastfeed, how good for the baby, how wonderful for forming a bond with your child, etc. But for me, it hurts. Not because my nipples are sore, which is a common problem I´ve heard, but every time my milk lets down, it´s like knives stabbing me in the chest!
Plus, my son wants to be on the breast all day long and I just can´t do that. If I put him down, he screams. If I feed him, he falls asleep in two minutes and won´t let go of my breast! It is really frustrating sometimes and I´ve started to supplement with a bottle. Breastfeeding is better for him, I know, and it is certainly more economical and convenient when we go out, but it is just so unpleasant for me.

I had a horrible time getting used to it...yes it hurt like the dickens but hang in there, it does get better - the pain goes away, it does become enjoyable. i would have given up at the start if my husband was not so helpful as he was. we weened at 2.5 years
my second born was a baracuda nurser, eowie, she still has it in for me, I think!!! we weened at 14 mos
the next one was just a piece of cake, no problems whatsoever, weaned at (I forget how old, but I think it was around 18 mos)
