When your boss/supervisor is out of the office, do you stay on task or goof off? In the past, I've tended to stay busy for the first part of the day, then my interest dwindles and I surf the net, pay bills, etc. I always made sure that if I was asked for a progress report when my boss returned, that I could come up with a novel rivaling "War and Peace" of what I accomplished (thus doing as much work in the morning as possible).
