orphaned kittens

I have a proble. I found two orphaned kittens that are only about three weeks old. I have dogs. I'm a dog person, but I couldn't let these little kittens starve. I found them yesturday near death. I've been feeding them kitten formula through a syringe every three hours. They are responding very well, and are becoming more lively each hour. This is my pproblem. I called all of the cat rescues here in the city that I live in, as well as the humane society. The humane society told me that they would just euthanize them, and the animal rescues told me they had no foster homes available and that I was pretty much on my own. I don't like cats, and sure don't want to keep these ones. I would never be mean to a cat, and have become foster mom for two orphan kittens. I need to find someone to take these kittens when they are old enough to go to a new forever home. I wish that I just had some more help with local humane society and animal rescues. Does anyone have any suggestion?

here is good news for you, if your dogs wont harass the kitties while they are small they will grow up to be friends, its actaully recomended if you are planning to mix dogs and cats in a environment for the Dog to be older because the kitties will soon overcome the instinct to be defensive against dogs. you will have a sweet small family, It works believe me my lab is sometimes the bed of the cats when the are sleeping. Its fun to watch them play.

I'm a cat person but I love dogs too. I think that you sound like someone who will fall in love with these two little sweeties and make room in your heart and house for them. If not I hope you find them a good home. They have struggled so hard to survive it would be sad if they don't get a chance. Good luck.

You sound like me. I would have done the same thing. And Im now feeding a stray cat outside of my home. And she now has a kitten. Oh great! But I cant get near her she wont let me. And I have 3 cats of my own. But they are inside cats. I hope you find someone that will take them. Thats about all you can do. I know its so sad. Good luck

thank you, it's good to know that there are still kind hearts out there. These little guys are wild, but they are so young that they will be easily tamed. One of them already comes to me when I squeak for him. It's wierd, I don't like cats at all, but these guys are just so sweet.
