should crciket be made as the national game of india?

According to me, is should be the national game of India sometime back itself.With the kind of craze among people and the media hype in our country i would except it to the national game atleast pretty soon. The BCCI spends millions of Rupees for cricket, but i would like the natonal authorities to make cricket as the national game and spend money from BCCI on other games too.

It is tough one. As hockey has given us lot of gold medals and other medals at Olympics and we also won world cup in hockey too and is played by masses in rural and urban areas. And hockey is played worldwide. But i feel cricket creates euphoria like no other sport esp. India defeating pakistan in world cup is rejoiced like nothing else. So there is lot of passion for the game of cricket and it binds the antion like no other game. So cricket canbe made as national game. Though for some it is already one.

No,I don't think we convert our National game from hockey to cricket because it is more famous here in India or we play cricket far more better than hockey.

I would of thought it would be. Seen as you guys are a very though side to play and have different styles of bowlers (all pretty darn fast).. What is your national sport? If I was asked in a quiz I would actually said cricket. ~Joey

defenitely not.. just because cricket is famous in india how can we make it our national sport.. hockey is our national sport and it was popular once.. players lik dyand chand made it popular. now ppl like sachin and dravid are making cricket popular thats it.. who knows once these ppl retire the situaton might change..
