We got him on Saturday and he refused to eat for two days. then he ate like a pig the third and fourth day. But today he's back to not eating again. We took him to the vet because he was so skinny but everything is fine. He's healthy. Do you think he's depressed? He was taken from his brother (who lives with my mom incedently). My mom says her puppy is fine. We are feeding him puppy food with some prescription can food from the vet. Should I worry? What can I do to help him eat or feel not so nervous about being here?

I don't really think it's anything to be concerned about. Just give him a little bit of time. As you saw on the third and fourth days, the puppy will eat when he needs to. He just needs a little time to get familiar with his new home.

Sure he is mourning but you could feed him homecooked which he for sure would like better than kibble or canned and which would be healthier, too. Puppies need two thirds meat, beef, chicken, turkey, deer... and one third whole grain like cooked brown rice or barley plus some vegetables like cucumbers, peppers, lettuce, radishes, carrots. If you then add a calcium minerals mix from the store for his bone developement he will grow nicely. Puppies love omelets by the way. And all puppies love chicken.
