I tip, depending on how they do. I like to start with 30% of the bill. If they are slow to greet, serve, deduct 2% each, If there are any problems, deduct 2%. When I get the bill, I add all together all the 2%'s, subtract that from the 30%. Thats the tip. Most of the time my Waiters/Waitresses get 30%.

My husband always gives a tip. It is usually included in the meal. However when it is separate, he leaves it under a cup so the waitress can pick it up. If the food and service is crappy, well he still gives a tip but we don't go there anymore and the tip is not as large. Also some coffee shops do not allow tips. We have never tipped at Tim Hortons which is the official Canadian coffee shop nor at MacDonald's or Burger King.

Nope. Most restaurants where I go to, the waiters are automatically given commission for the tables that they serve. And besides, there's already 10% service charge so I don't think there's any reason for me to tip again. I think the only person I tip is my hairdresser! :P

I tip according to service. When my waitperson is happy, comes by the table often, is quick with drinks or whatever, they get a good tip. If they are in a bad mood and it affects my meal, their tip reflects their attitude. Tips are not required, so waitpeople should earn them. If you want a good tip- leave your crappy attitude outside with your car.
