Are you a phone person?

With cell phones everywhere it seems like everyone is always on the phone. I just don't like to talk all that much on the phone. I call my family and check in, see how things are going, etc. But basically I use my phone to make arrangements to meet with people in person. I just don't like having to hold the phone to my ear! And I really hate answering my cell phone in public anywhere, I just don't want other people to hear my business, even if it is my husband calling me while I am grocery shopping to have me pick up milk. It just seems like anymore I am in the minority on this, since everywhere you turn someone is on the phone. The other day I drove from my house to the store, and I'm not exaggerating when I say that about 75% of the people in the cars passing me were on the phone. It was amazing to me to see that. Are you a phone person?

I am very shy when it comes to the phone, but I'm getting over it. I like my cell phone for its programm capabilities more than anything, it's a Nokia 6620 (it can play MP4s, woot!). I feel like I sound really silly on the phone, and I've used my phone's sound recorder to record my own voice before. -_-;; I'm getting over the phone shyness since I've gotten my own cell phone, that's the good thing. Now if people would stop teasing me about my mousy voice, I'd feel like talking to them. :P

I'm not a phone person. I like to talk to people I'm close to on the phone. I also use it for business and so on. But that's about it. I don't have a mobile. Furthermore, I'll switch my phone off when I'm not expecting a call. On the other hand, I love letters and e-mails. A phone ringing can make me jumpy.

Well, I do have a cell phone in case my partner needs to talk to me and I'm not home. I find it gives me a little more freedom, but nobody else calls me on that and I don't really like picking up the phone at home either.
I hate talking on the phone, though I do check in with my family on a regular basis, just so they know I'm alive and all :P It's hard when you live a third of the world away to just pop in for a coffee.

Hello,amyann16,i am not a phone person,i seldom talk for long time on the phone, the longest time i have been on the cell phones may be around 30 minutes or so,most of the time,i will use my cell phones for communication with my friends and family, like asking them where they are when I am suppose to meet them.
When I am driving,i will not talk on the phone as i know i will be distracted and it will be very dangerous.

oh. i don't also talk on the phone for too long. i feel like my ears get irritated when my phone's earpiece are always on my ear. it's annoying! most of the time, i talk to the phone for just seconds or a couple of minutes. just to be able to get the idea of what we're talking about is enough for me... anne

I'm not a phone person at all. I can hardly hear what people are saying on phones so there isn't too much temptation to yack. I also don't really like the idea of being reachable all the time, so I leave my mobile off most of the time unless I need to call out. I think the last time I looked I had over 70 euro in free calll credit. They give me 10 free a month and I never make a dent in it!

Yes I am only when necessary because when you are far from home and travelling by public buses and encounter breakdown this is very helpful to make the family not to panic.

i do have a phone with me all the time. but i only have it for emergency purposes. atleast, people can contact me easily wherever i may be.
but i am not the person who loves to stare at my phone's screen all the time. pressing the buttons and sending text messages. nor the person who loves to be on the phone talking to people even if it's already nonesense.
i love my phone since i can be reach easily in cases of emergencies. plus i can capture photos anywhere and anytime i want... anne

I am with you, I am not a big phone person. I know what you mean about everyone on their phones constantly. I use it if I am meeting someone and I am gonna be late or they are late. I just can't sit on the phone all that time.

I am so NOT a phone person, I seem to get stomach cramps whenever I have to talk on the phone. I don't like it, I don't like it, I don't like it!
It amazes me when I go out and see people talking on their phone as they shop, just shooting the breeze.

People seem to be enslaved to the phone. Have you noticed that wherever you are, whoever you are talking to, when the telephone rings, be it a landline or a cell, you get always relegated to the second place ('let me just get that...'). Whatever you're talking about, whatever you're doing, the phone call is more important. I hate it.

I would be about 50/50 , I don't mind talking on my house phone to a friend when I have nothing else to do but can let a phone ring and this doesn't bother me if I am busy . It annoys others when they come into our house and no one will check to see who is calling because we let the phone ring . I always figure if it is important they will call back .
I use a cell phone and I don't mind when one calls but I am rarely on my cell phone . I use this for emergencies or to check and see if we need anything while I am out and that would be about it .

I really hate talking on the phone, but I don't know where I would be without my cell phone. I like having it there for things like making plans or finding someone. (Yes, I have called my fiance when he was in the same store as me, but I couldn't find him... it was a big store!) Other than that, though, I really don't use my phone very much.

i dont like talking on the phone much either. it makes my hand really tired. and i get lazy talking with my friends, cause they can take up to HOURS. i use my phone just in case i get lost, or have to meet up with people, and for emergencies of course haa. but i dont mind if my phone rings in public.. noone can hear it.. so why even worry about them being in yo business.

I'm not much of a phone person. I don't like being on the phone too much because I usually have other stuff going on and I think that phone conversations are very impersonal. You can't see the expressions on the persons face, see the body language or even catch a tone sometimes. I would much rather wait until I can be in person to have a conversation than to talk on the phone. Other than calling and checking in with family or ordering a pizza, I don't use the phone that much.
