TV commercials......do they make you want to buy things?

I know that they make commercials for advertising new products......but how many times do you really buy something just because you seen it in TV commercial?
I like watching them.....but I don't think I ever bought something simply because I've seen it advertised on TV.
Sure....some of the products sound really great.....but then when you get to the store and find out how much the stuff costs....no thank you.
It would be great if they let you try stuff before you actually had to buy it.....at least this way you would know if you liked it or not.
More often than not....when they do let you sample something....it doesn't seem to work quite as well as they said and I'm always glad that I didn't end up waisting my money.
There has been a few times that I got to sample a product and I could not wait to go buy it after that.
I guess commercials must be working for some.....because if they didn't I'm sure they would quit making them.
So how about you.....do TV commercials influence the things you buy.....or does it take a bit more to get you to part with your money?

I usually don't purchase anything that I see on commercials. I do love the Sonic commercials with Tj Jagodowski who is the passenger in the car between the two guys, and Peter Grosz who is the driver. They are just too funny. Now sometimes I will see something on the sonic commercial that I will buy the next time my friend and I go shopping. We usually like to stop at SOnic as that is the only time we usually eat there. But as far as buying a new product to use I haven't ever bought something that I can think of.

Sometimes they can work to get me to buy or try something. More often then not it's not really a big reason why I try something.

If it is somethings I intend to buy I and there are various types or manufacturers of the item then I will watch adds and they have sometimes influences my choice. I do know for sure that adds for different restaurants and/or their specials have made me decide to try it out.

no they really do not make me buy the products...
because i hardly watch any commercials on the tv.
whenever there is a commercial break in a programme, i promptly switch to another channel.

Except for the "I am a Mac and I'm a Pc" commercial, commercials do not make me want to buy. In fact, I'm the type of person who says, "I would love a ===== but it hasn't been invented yet." Besides all we have to do is wait until the items "Seen on Tv" appear in Walmart or Zellers, so we can see what they really are like and whether they are worth it.

For me, TV Commercials just help me to know the new products that are released for the public. But I have never made the decision to buy them, just by looking the commercials.
Most of the time,I take the advices of my friends and family before purchasing some new products. Because all TV Commercials will say that their product is the best,but who knows that.

Tv commericals really don't make me want to buy things. Certain commericals make me laugh and I really like them. But really want to go out and get it? No. Can't say that they do. Cars give me ideas on what we might want to go out and buy just because that is what we are looking for now.
