I had to go to my primary care doctor 2 days ago to get refills because everything that I had had at the Super Walmart Pharmacy had gotten through out. I didn't know anything about it untill I called and ask for my medications. So I got rills from my doctor yesterday but thay still haven't got all my medications filled. This sort of aggervates me. I mean they threw out your medications if you don't go and get them befor 10 days yet they can't fill out the ones that you send to them in a timely manner. I wrote down on my calender and I will call them every day untill I know they have them. I even told the lady when I called to see if my medications where in you'll through out the medications in 10 days if they aren't picked up but yet you'll can't get what I need. I think I might end up switching pharmacies. it's just easier to get them picked up at Walmart.

I used to use WalMart pharmacy, the customer service there really lousy. The techs and pharmacists were not people friendly.
I switched to Walgreen's, most are open 24 hours. They send you emails, and call you when your RX is ready.
They do not throw away meds, they will restock them and keep your RX script in your file so when you come back its still available for you.
I talked to a friend of mine who is a Rx tech for CVS, she said that is against the law to throw RX in the trash.
All meds have to be accounted for either from filled RX, or expired medications.
Hope you get your meds.

Yeah i dont think they "threw them out" they just returned it to stock. We do this at my pharmacy but we keep them for a long time, like over a month. and many people still do not pick them up. And we call these ppl to tell them to come get their prescriptions, but sometimes they just dont. My pharmacy is really busy and we just do not have room to keep all prescriptions forever. But just because it is returned to stock doesnt mean you cant get it anymore. It just means you have to wait for us to re-process it all over again.

I work at an independent pharmacy, you know a small family pharmacy and this doesn't seem right. We also go through our prescriptions that have been sitting there for a while and not picked up but we don't throw them out. If the prescription has been there for 6 days then I will call the person to let them know the prescription is ready. Then if the medicine has been sitting there for 12 days and not picked up we will return it to stock. But the person does not lose that prescription. Before we return it we go in the computer and credit the refill back to the person who it belonged to. And I have heard many people complain about how long it takes Walmart to fill prescriptions. It doesn't seem like it should take that long. When people bring us prescriptions it is filled in 10-15 minutes and if we are really busy then maybe 30 minutes but that is the most. I have heard people say they have stood there at the counter and waited in Walmart and it took them 2 hours. That is crazy. I guess alot of people go to Walmart for convenience but it seems lately it has become a hassle for alot of people. I don't know what their hours are but we stay open from 9-6 and most people can make it to get their medicines by then. But I guess if people work different hours or had to drive a long way it would be easier to just go to Walmart.

yeah it is easier for me since my mom works there in the hair salon to pick it up and it's not that far from where i like like less then 5 miles. I am glad that the pharmacy you work for does things better and waits for whenever to pick up ther medications.

Most pharmacies I know have a policy that if the prescriptions aren't picked up by a certain date, so many days after they are filled, they go back to stock. I'm sure that is what they meant and not that they were thrown out. Unless the prescriptions were very old I can't see why they didn't refill them though and why you had to go to the doctor for new prescriptions. That doesn't make sense unless they were up there for months on end. Prescriptions are only good for so long after all.

I have never actually experienced anything that you are experiencing now but I hope you will get your medications soon. I also hope the you will be able to get a far more efficient pharmacy. It's bad that they don't have your medication when you just need it.

yeah I know it is. It is suppose to be here in 2 days. In stead of throwing away the last bottles I had because I didn't go get them before 10 days was up they should of kept them a little bit longer. I assume it's a new law for Walmart pharmacy or maybe just the one in my town.
