I have been at my current job for 8 months. I looked at my resume and I have a pattern of being at a job of no more then a year. I know i will stay where they pay. If something with more money comes along then I gotta go. So have you been with the same job for years, or are you a job hoper?

I have been earning online for the past 3 or 4 years but it sure doesn't replace a regular income at a real job. I stayed with all of my other jobs before this though until I started getting drove nuts by other employees. I loved all of my jobs and I had decent pay with benefits. It is a shame that you just cannot go to work and do the job and come home without being drove nuts though. I hate gossip and I always worked the whole time I was at my job. Alot of others loved to gossip and lag.

I don't know of any jobs that does not have gossip either. It is like people come to work only to gossip and not do their jobs. I always went to work and did my job. I worked at the end of the line and I did final inspection of the products and did some repairs before it shipped out the door. I had alot of responsibility, but the co-workers would leave their work station and come and talk to me when they should be working to send the product down the line to me. They would come up there and spread some gossip and I would always tell them NO I don't want to hear it. Then five seconds later, here they would come again and ask me if I want to hear the latest. Drove me nuts. Then we would have to work overtime or an extra day that we were supposed to be off and they would gripe about it. They wouldn't have had to work overtime if they did their job all week to begin with. I liked the overtime money but I knew we shouldn't have had to do it, if everyone would have done their job while they were there instead of going around worrying and talking about gossip in the plant and nosing in my business too.

I've been at my current job for 20 years. I have a home daycare and have been in the biz for 20 years, including teaching at a preschool. I'll probably be in this profession for another 20 years cause I don't think I'll have enough to retire anytime before that.

I have been at my current job for just over 3 months. Unfortunately it does not pay much. Last week I found one person, even though she works FT and has a child, qualifies for WIC. That is awful, to be working in a place, busting your but and still can't afford to eat properly.
I worked at one job for 22+ years.

I was at my job for 10 and a half years and I just recently left. Before that I would not stay more than three years at a job, I guess it is because I have always know that I should be in business for myself and not working for someone else.

In the long run that will hurt your resume more than help it. Most places will not hire you if you don't have a good job history. I will stay at a job as long as I am happy there. My last job I was at for over 2 years. I would have stayed if my manager has not decided to leave and they replaced her with a complete moron. I have been at my current job for about a year.
