Family Ties Are Such A Huge Part Of My Life

Family is the most important part of my life. As most of you know I have only had one child and she was born in 1972. I did also take in foster children when I was a young mom. In 2001 I suffered a heart attack which was told to me as being direct cause of stress. Since that time my daughter and I go to the city once a year, we call this our Mother daughter bonding time. I have two grandchildren and one awesome son-in-law, he stays home with the two kids so my daughter and I can go to the city. We're going early Friday morning and we spend the night in a nice MotorInn
and come home Saturday. We get there, check into the room, go have supper or shop whatever comes first, we shop till the mall closes then we go to the casino have a drink then we go to the room laugh and talk about the day/evening events, there's always something for us to talk and laugh about, then we get a few hours sleep, we check out at about 9 am go for breakfast maybe do one or two more shops if we're not flat broke then we have a three hour trip back home. This is the weekend we go and I'm bursting at the seams wanting to go. I look forward to my mother/daughter bonding once a year and I wish my mother would have loved me and did this with me but I Thank God for giving me the daughter I have. I am so gifted. I will be having a Great Weekend and I hope you all do too. For those on my prayer list I will still remember you in prayer as I say prayers no matter where I am and no matter what I do. Take Care All... (HUGS)

I may only have one child but she has been the light of my life and there is no greater love than the love for your children. It's sad all mothers can't feel the bond that we have.

My family is a very important part of my life and that is why I spend time with my parents at least one day a week. Me and my parents usually either have breakfast together on saturdays or we will go to church on sundays or do some other activity. I visited my brother and his family and my sister in March and will be going down there again in the fall at some point. That is great that you and your daughter get along wonderfully and get to spend time together. Have a great and fun weekend with your daughter. You are definitely in my prayers as well.

That is so great that you do that once a year with your daughter hun. My family is important to me too and I wish my mom and I did that, but her and my dad only come out to visit once a year. It is usually around my daughters birthday which I think is great that they plan it for that time! They usually stay one week and that is why I wasn't in MyLot land last week as they were here. Have a great weekend hun! *hugz*

Good that you had your visit, it's so important to stay close to family. I am so lucky that I only live about a 3/4 hour drive away from my daughter or I think I'd go nuts. Thank You for your comments.

Your welcome for responding hun. It is hard having them in the States while I'm here in Canada. I wish they could visit more then once a year, but it isn't cheap that's for sure.

That is so wonderful that you and your daughter have that special weekend together. (what a good husband she has to take the kids):) I would love to do that with my mom. She moved to Texas from Illinois four months ago and I haven't seen her yet. I hope you and your daughter have another memorable weekend.

I forgot to mention but Yes my son-in-law has been a good dad and provider for his family and I must say he has done lots for me. I know he's not doing this just for my daughter, he knows I have serious health issues and he has been very supportive.
I think the world of him and again he also comes from a good family.

You are really a kind and sensible and smart mother in my perspective.
I wish my mother had been something like you so that we can also have that kind of vacation.
I'd love to but ....

Thank You for your kinds words I appreciate that. My mother and I were never close and she would never have thought to go accross the street with me let alone an overnight visit and that's sad so yes I know what you mean. I hope you can one day have a getaway with a special person in your life.

It sounds like you have a wonderful relationship with your daughter. My mom and I are very close, we are best friends. We don't go away together but we do make special time to talk about things on a daily basis. I am hoping that one day I will have this type of relationship with my own daughter. My daughter and I go on day trips together so that we can spend alone time with one another. We like to discuss girl stuff and what is going on in my daughters life. I enjoy spending this quality time with my daughter. Enjoy your weekend !!!
