Hey there, I just joined and so I hope you will teach us about it. I have to go back I am sure and do a few things. I have a couple of lenses done and am not sure what to do next. I will check out the forum and then browse a bit. I still hope that you will tell us what you have learned so far. Good luck with yours!!

I have learned quite a few things, first thing is to regularly update your lenses often, much like normanl websites really, this keeps your lenses fresh and in with a chance of building up your royalty earnings.
add polls to your lenses for your visitors to vote, in these polls you can also add html in them if you have some sneaky affiliate links!
If you know html a bit then you can add a header title graphic at the top of the page for better lens viewings.
Make use of the tag feature, each lens you can add up to 40 keyword tags based on the content of your lens, I usually use a keyword search tool like overture to get the best possible keyword results that people could be searching for through the search engines.
And then the best thing of all is having a really good interest in something and just showing your expertise in it for all to see.

Some of them are a bit hit and miss but I like working on them and updating them when I have the time, if you have some finished lenses I could link to them and rate them to give them a boost in the squidoo system!!

For a long time I had only 15 lenses and was making about $4 per month. Than I added 40 more lenses, and started making about $10 per month.
Since August I made 100 more lenses, won 2 awards, got a lens put on the top 100 lenses ever list, and am listed as #8 on their list of lensemasters who created the most lens with meaningful non-spam content.
Since their payouts are off-set by 2 months, my current pay-outs are still reflecting pay only for the lenses made prior to August. I anticipate earning about $40-$70 per month by January 2008. And if my traffic rank continues to rise, I well easily start makeing $200 - $300 per month.
I know of one lensemaster over there who is currently makeing $600 -$1,000 a month over there.
Unfortunatly about 75% of the members make a lot of junk-spam-lenses. I find it funny that they have no original content on the lenses and than they complain about only makeing $0.30 per month. Content is key. Original content is king.

Never heard of it.. Does it actually pay and not have bad words about it?

I've only made $11.50 so far and I been on squidoo for 3 months (though I havent made a new lens in over a month now). The best way I found (so far) to make cash is to buy stuff off your own lenses. For an example visit this lens http://www.squidoo.com/save-buying-from-ebay/

I sometimes do that at Amazon when they have a slow sales period but around christmas is the best time to promote everything and yes even your squidoo lenses, they are like seasonal sales venues at times, and now I am applying the techniques I've learned online recently I'm seeing a boost in sales in everything I promote.
