How was your day?

I know, your loved ones are supposed to ask right? Some do, some don't. So for those who don't get asked, how was your day? Since my kids don't ask, I'll tell you I drove 2 hours each way for an interview that will probably go nowhere today but this afternoon I submitted my resume for another job posting over the internet and have an interview tomorrow morning - really, no kidding. Within 10-15 minutes of submitted it I was called to interview. So how about your day?

I am so glad you had a good day and even more so you brightened your mom's day too. Make sure you ask her often, it matters and it will endear you to her even more! Parents love knowing their kids care, no matter how old they get! I'm very glad you did that for her.

my day was so =so. it started out okay but I'm a caregiver and the last patient of the day is a nasty nag. no matter how nice i try to be ,she badmouths me.the only thing that keeps me going with that is the fact that it is better than no job at all.

I sympathize, that can be very challenging. I know we take a lot just to have a job. That I can and do relate to but sometimes there's a point in time that you just can't take anymore and you need to move on. I did for my own health and beliefs but then I wasn't dealing with one nasty nag - I was dealing with a company full!

Caregiving is one of those fields with high burnout rate. I did it for a summer during college. I was also a different kind of caregiver - with adults with mental retardation. I did that for about 10 years. If you can go to school for something else you should have a much better career path. Not all of us can be caregivers for the long haul. There are a few - very special people who can but most of us find another path to follow. Good luck with your endeavors. Hopefully you'll get to it soon!

Pretty slow. I had to fix a few issues on ng and then I got bored and just played on a game or with my son. work was pretty slow and so was mylot, sadly. Today was when I was hoping test the payment system out more. (I'm trying to post 300 in one day) and see what length counts etc ~Joey Kudos!

Hehe.. Nothing at all ;) he's the reason I snapped out of being bored lol.. He was in "oooo look at me" mood, kept going from one person to another as if he was comedian. :P Ah, I can't wait for the testing process to be finished. I've picked up a fair bit now, just having to work out a basic guide to the amount we earn and then place with the rest of the puzzle. (I didn't say that though) hehe Kudos, ~Joey

I'll be real interested to hear the results once you've tested your theory. I have no idea how this "incentive" system works or what I need to do to benefit more from it. I hope you have a better day tomorrow. And hey, at least you had time to play with your son. Just what could be better than that?

It's nice that you have your family to share it with. Yes, it's far for an interview but if I do work for that company I will drive about an hour each way. The interview I had Friday was much closer to home and I would welcome more I think. We'll see. Thanks for asking.

Honestly, I just wanted my whole day to be good and better coz I don't want my kids notice that my day isn't a good one. As much as possible I want them see me happy everyday.

I understand that but don't you think sometimes your kids should know when you're not. Isn't it better they learn young how to deal with hard times when they become adults? Just a thought....

Your day sounds so nice! Thank you for your well wishes - today's interview went well but it'll be at least a week before I know whether I will have a second interview and probably another week before the person hired is selected. I'll keep at it though.

I know what that's like. I managed an EB Games for a couple of years until they got taken over by the Gamestop Corp. and I got downsized. I went everywhere putting in resumes wearing my suit and flashing my college degree and got nowhere. Finally I heard that the Dundalk Marine Terminal was hiring 2 miles from my house. I was really behind on my bills. I decided to leave the suit, the college degree and my resume at home. I walked in in jeans and a t-shirt with a ball cap on backwards. I said, "HI, I'm joe. I need a job. Now I work installing accessories which I never saw myself doing. I work 6:30 a.m. to 3:15 p.m. Monday-Friday only and I make more money than when I was a salaried manager working 80 hrs a week. You have to look at everything out there.

Absolutely I'm ruling nothing out and after doing the long commute and having no life to speak of because of it and the long hours at a salaried job I want to be close to home, even if I need to work a few jobs to do it. I was less tired working 7 days a week at 2 jobs than I was this past year. The grass is always greener on the other side until we try it and then we want to go back to what was cause it was easier and less stressful and we're not as tired.
