Parter work differnet shifts?

My husband has been working third shift for almost a year now and I work like the first/second shift I guess you can call it. Lately our relationship has been a little rocky because of our schedules and how we hardly get to talk to each other. I'm not sure how exactly I can communicate with him. I can't even talk to him half the time because of his sleeping.

hey there! im in the exact same position and have been for 2 years, i guess you just need to try and find one time in the week that you two can do something together it is hard i know!

We do the same thing for childcare reasons. I work nights, and my husband is home with our daughter. He works days and I take her back and forth to school and sleep in between. That way we don't have to pay for day care or take time off when she's sick. We talk on the phone and see each other on the weekends, since we both have weekends off.

You can plan to have the same days off, leave notes and letters to where hell find them and read them or if you have cellphones text eachother if possible. It doesn't hurt to try. I hope that you'll find a way to be able to communicate with eachother and one of my advice will work or if not someone elses will.
