You should do everything possible to provide a family ennvirement for your children that is supportive and understanding .Love ,understanding ,and regular commmunication are some of the most important things you can provide to help your children cope with depression In addition to having a positive home life, staying in professional counseling ,and taking medications as prescribed ,good lifestyle habits can help reduce your children's symptoms of depression . Encourage your children to: 1.Get regular exercise 2.Avoid alcohol and illegal drugs ,nonprescription medications ,herbal therapoes,and mesications that havr not been prescribed. 3.Get enough sleep. 4.Going to bed at the same time every night. 5.Keeping the bedroom dark and quiet. 6.Not exercising after 5:00p.m. 7.Eatting a balanced diet. 8.Be hopeful about feeling better.
