My paypal account was unverified for 5 months and I was able to receive money, send money and withdraw money (by requesting a check). Some people have their settings so that they won't receive or send payments from/to unverified accounts. All I did was set up the account. I didn't have to do anything special.

You can still get the money via paypal even your account is unverified as long as your country is supported by paypal for you to withdraw. There are countries wherein paypal does not allow withdrawal, just like mine PHilippines, we are free to register with paypal but we can't withdraw from it. You status to get verified as far as i know is in able for you to establish your reputation as merchant using paypal account plus the benefit of minimum transaction can be made. If you country is not supported for withdrawal of the funds, i guess you have to find other way out. One of the suggestion i have read few days ago is by using paypal account in remittance so you can get the money via remittance. But i am thinking if that would be the best way, the fee might be a little higher.

You can get money, you just can't remove it from your Paypal account if it's unverified.
