it depends. like in the philippines for example. it is mandatory. the only reason for this is because in the philippines almost everything posted in the walls, in street corners, or even in the constitution is already in the english medium. we couldnt understand any of those if we will not take english subject. that is why we have to learn english. maybe you will say that we are not that patriotic in our native language. but, english is very necessary in the philippines. You are nor a filipino if you don't know english.

yes it is very important most ofcourse with the country with international schools..and besides English is the medium of communicartion for most of the country

I think it should be mandatory for any schools to impose english subject. English plays an important role in communication worldwide. It is in such a way that we could be able to communicate with other people from any races.
