I was caught a lot of times.... but not for breaking any traffic rules....
actually i always try to follow traffic rules..
i was caught by a traffic cop as i drive a vehicle with a registration number of other state in india and i do not have the no-objection certificate from the state of registration of the vehicle...
apart from this reason, i have never been caught for any reason relating to breaking of traffic rules.

Yes sure, on many occasions. When I was under 18 and used to ride 2 wheelers, sometimes he has stopped me and when I didn't have license he asked for bribe money. I told him that I'm son of a Dy.S.P. He asked me the details and I gave the details of my friend's dad and he let me go. Then after having a license, he has stopped me on several occasions and I have a habit of carrying my license, insurance and registration papers so he didn't have any point to object over, yet he would ask money over something idiotic like the mirror is too small or the PUC certificate is old. Then once I was at a traffic light and it was green for me, however there was no police at the signal so the people from opposite side were breaking and moving on. When they were done I crossed, and I wasn't breaking signal. Yet, just at that time the cop came and asked me to stop. I argued with him for over an hour. He took my license and sent me to court where I had to waste 2 whole days and then finally bribe all the people over there. Its frustrating.

I have gotten caught speeding a couple of times when I was younger. Once was because my boss gave me ten minutes to report to work and I lived fifteen minutes away. I was trying to hurry. Boss paid for that ticket. The other time was because my sister in law was in labor with my nephew and I didn't want to miss his birth. Well actually the cop let me go with a warning so that doesn't actually count.

I have been stopped by the highway patrol twice in my life time. The first time I was very young and had let my lisence expire and was driving to towm for groceries and ran into a spot check. Tried to talk my way out but it didn't work.
The next time I had my kids and some of their cousins and I was taking the cousins home and we were inging and the faster the song went the faster I was driving. Got pulled over for goinngsome over the speed limit. I explained what happened and the officer let me go with a warning. fter that I always watch the spedomoter very close.

Last year, there's been a lot of rerouting done here and many of us are getting confused with the new traffic guidelines.
Everytime I drive, I need to stay focus and see what road is safe to use, which way to turn left, where to make a complete U-turn and so on. I think I was caught 3 times during that time.
Its a good thing that none of the 3 incidents gave me a lot of headache. A little bribery and I was on my way.

Yes, I was fined for going 10 MPH over the speed limit. I didn't realise that road was resistricted to 30mph at the time and was doing 40mph - but that didn't make any difference, I was still fined. Since then though, I've not had anything as I'm careful to watch speed limits now LOL

My husband got a ticket last week. It was for an accident, not even fair, but that is what happened. Other than that, no fines for anything for either of us ever.

Yes unfortunately- for speeding tickets a lot- The last one I was stopped for was almost 2 years ago! Just not paying attention- And boy are they costly- Not only do you have to pay the fines- add a surcharge and on top of that most times the car insurance goes up also- I was stopped a lot more as a new driver than I am now- I tend to follow the speed limits better now- Lead foot they used to call me!

When I was younger, I got stopped two different times for speeding. The first time, not only did I get the speeding ticket but I also got a lecture from the police officer about going too fast. But I didn't mind the lecture too much because the officer was REALLY good looking. LOL I have been stopped for the brake lights not coming on soon enough, but when I got that fixed, the officer dismissed the fix it ticket. Oh...and I was stopped one time for not having my seat belt on. The funny part was that I could've sworn that I put the darned thing on before I left the house, but the officer told me that he could see the buckle dangling above my shoulder. When I told him that I must have daydreamed that I put it on (and I still swear that that's what happened) the officer started laughing really hard, and he ended up letting me go without a ticket...WHEW! LOL

I'm so lucky that I only had untill now (and I have a license since 1979)only parking penalties untill this year that I was caught by radar in a 50 km zone and I was driving 65km p/h. And I said lucky because I love to drive fast and as a teacher I always had to drive a lot to the schools where I worked.

I was fined once for riding my mobike on the pavement (meant for people to walk), and another time for overtaking on the left. during those days we had to go to courts and pay the fine with the help of a lawyer. But later the govenment introduced a spot fine system, and the hassle in paying the fine was no longer there. I have been fined for taking a U turn in my car.

I was once fined by a Traffic Police Officer for doing a U -turn where it was not alloed. The fine was about $250.00.
I was very annoyed, but it was my fault.
A few times I have been breathtested, but always passed.

In 31 years, I have been caught twice for speeding and both times I have written an extremely contrite letter to the person in charge of handing out fines and I've been let off with just a warning. No points loss and no fine. I have a totally clean licence. :)

The only time I have been fined by a police officer was for driving with an expired registration. I hadn't realized it had expired (never got my renewal notice from the DMV)so I had to pay the $60 fine plus another $58 for the new registration (I renewed for two years, just to be safe).

Yes. I have been fined once by the traffic Cop. What happened was, I was following a large van infront of me. It was actually blocking my view of the Signal. The van overruled traffic and tried to cross the signal, which I also followed. Now, as per the cop, I also is a person who didnt foolow the signal.. I was fined then.. ;(
