The President of India plays and will play a very important role in the current socio-economic and political situation in India. There are lots of important and controversial issues coming up now and then in the country.Reservations and quotas,Nuclear Policy etc. To handle such situations a very strong and dynamic president is needed...do u think that these political parties are really thinking about the country or they are just playing political power games...is Presidential Elections in India is becoming a political game...??

Yes, largely so , especially after Ex-president Kalam had returned a few bills to the parliament for reconsideration like the office of profit bill which compelled Sonia Gandhi to get reelected from her constituency after she resigned from the post for being accused of holding a post of profit and then the controversial RTI act followed by the interference of Judiciary into policy decisions which ,the politicians would like to believe ,falls outside the jurisdiction of the courts. So for obvious reasons the governing party breathes easy with someone who would go along with the government on policy matters where either the house or the judiciary comes in the way of the bill. Now I am not saying that Kalam set a wrong precedent by doing what he did , but sadly , it seems to only happen when a non political person holds the post of president.
