I am about to purchase a used car, nothing fancy just something to get to and from work, pick my daughter up from school etc. Any who, should I get an american car with low mileage, like a chevy, ford, pontiac not trying to downgrade them but I have always been told not to buy one, or should I get a toyota, honda, nissan etc., which I have been told are good cars, I know for a fact as long as I treat it right I can run a toyota into the ground.
So what would you do?

I think you should go for a Toyota, but check everything before you buy a second hand car, get it checked by a good garage mechanic.

At the risk of sounding unpatriotic or something... if you want a good reliable car, you need a Toyota or a Honda. Those are some reliable cars. I would stay away from Nissan, but Toyota and Honda both rock. If you want something dependable and long lasting, go Japanese.

That's a good question. I wish I had an answer for you. We've never owned anything but Chevy, Fords, or Pontiac's before. So I don't know how well the others due when they're used compared to those.
I think you should shop around first then maybe decide.
Of course I think if you go with a Toyota since you know they're great cars then you can't go wrong either.
