I am about to purchase a used car, nothing fancy just something to get to and from work, pick my daughter up from school etc. Any who, should I get an american car with low mileage, like a chevy, ford, pontiac not trying to downgrade them but I have always been told not to buy one, or should I get a toyota, honda, nissan etc., which I have been told are good cars, I know for a fact as long as I treat it right I can run a toyota into the ground. So what would you do?

Sorry USA, but I stand by the toyotas and hondas. Not so much the Nissans. They will last longer. Are more reliable. And safer, should you gosh forbide be in an accident. Just my two cents.

I think you should go for a Toyota, but check everything before you buy a second hand car, get it checked by a good garage mechanic.

At the risk of sounding unpatriotic or something... if you want a good reliable car, you need a Toyota or a Honda. Those are some reliable cars. I would stay away from Nissan, but Toyota and Honda both rock. If you want something dependable and long lasting, go Japanese.

That's a good question. I wish I had an answer for you. We've never owned anything but Chevy, Fords, or Pontiac's before. So I don't know how well the others due when they're used compared to those. I think you should shop around first then maybe decide. Of course I think if you go with a Toyota since you know they're great cars then you can't go wrong either.
