what do you do? Have you ever had to quit a job where they brag about you all the time and make mention to all the customers that they hope you last longer than the other bookkeepers they have had? I just graduated from college and have two degrees and my employer will not be giving me an increase because of it, nich huh? So now I feel as if I should take my services elsewhere, should I feel bad? What would you do if you were me? I like the people I work with and have been here for a year and a half but the pay sucks and I pay a grip for medical...please help!!

I don't think you should feel bad. No one is going to look down on you for doing what you need to do, nobody expects you to stay in one job all your life. I have quit jobs where everyone loved me, but sometimes, you have to look out for number one, and that's yourself. I am a degreed individual also, and we deserve compensation for the work we have accomplished. I would be sure that I have another job lined up before I quit though.

Oh yes most definitely I would not quit one job without another one, I have been down that road many years ago, and now I have kids and wouldn't put them in that situation. My only concern is taking the time out of the job I have now to go interview for other jobs. I mean you would think that my current employer would catch on to what i'm doing at some point right? Its hard to get an interview scheduled for a time other than when you are working and some people just won't work with you.
