rude language in public places

So I go to a pizza restaurant about a block up from where I work today-a nice, family style restaurant. At that time, I was the only patron, just relaxing and reading a magazine while I finished my break. In walks this couple-he looks and acts like a castoff from "Malibu's Most Wanted"-she looks..normal. Naturally, they have to sit directly behind me-even though the rest of the booths and tables are empty. Now, this doesn't bother me, after all anybody can sit wherever he or she wants, but- they proceeded to fight-THE WHOLE TIME. Relatively loudly-or at least loudly enough for my ears to burn. I'm no prude-I'm not easily offended by bad language-but these two made Deadwood look like Touched By An Angel. I don't think they knew any other words. Every other word began with F or S, and mostly F, with a few Bs thrown in for good measure. It was so bad that I half expected Jamie Kennedy to pop up and announce I'd been X'd :) How can anyone not realize or care how rude that kind of behavior is? Free country or not-what happened to any semblance of public manners?

I think public manners is a lost art form...I really don't think someone should carry on their private or what should be private arguments in a public place and have every other word a foul one....but you know what, sometimes I actually laugh. It gets to a point in some ways that when you hear people talk and use the F word every other word it actually sounds comical...like don't they know any other words or are they defficiant in the language??

I think some people just get so wrapped up in conversation they forget that they are in public or in hearing range of other people. Or some people just don't really care. Either way, you're right, it is rude and people should be more conscious of their conversations in public. Then again, it's not up to me to tell someone how they can speak in public. All I have to do is move if they are bothering me regardless of "who was there first." It's about being mature in a situation and moving on. It's too bad some people never grow up though.
