How Does Blood Smell?

salty. i think i'd describe it salty.

I've seen it discribed as an "iron smell" or an "iron ______" something like tang, twang meaning like something stronger than a hint but unless its all over it shouldn't be overpowering. I find it a "sweetish iron smell."

It smells RUSTY to me. I don't also like it and feels that its just yucky but we all need it to live.

I would use "metallic" or "tangy", perhaps, something like "the metallic tang of blood hung in the air".

It's actually very easy, LilyoftheThorns! just follow the following steps. Get two thoroughly washed glasses. In one fill the juice, orange would be better perhaps. In other glass..um..keep it for now. Now get a delicately sharpened knife from the kitchen. Come to your room then to your bathroom without any other body's knowledge. Lock the door and see yourself in mirror and afford yourself a smile. Now close your eyes with knife in one hand and the empty glass finely placed just under your hand joint. Cut a vein on the joint and wait for one minutes before you can call this practice off. wash your hand, do a bandage and drink the juice. Problem solved, you now have successfully collected "The Blood". Smell it and find out how it smells. Don't forget to tell me when you are done so that I can send paramedics. If you are not inclined to go through above great artistic activity than just know that Blood normally smells like a moist rusted steel shaft unless it is from private part which smells diferently, just like an egg's white part or a rotten egg. Males semen has the same smell as women discharge blood.

Well I'm not sure about the smell, but it tastes salty and a bit metallic.

Hmmm....that is a tough one. The first word that popped into my head is gross, lol but that's not the most intellectual word. I kind of like musty. I honestly can't think of any others. Sorry!

To me it smells metallic. That is about the best description I can give.

Coppery is the word that I usually associate with the smell/taste of blood, because I have seen that word used a lot. I have read a lot of vampire novels, and they tend to use coppery as a common descriptor for blood.

I think it smell like iron.
