I have 4 Bamboo plants that were beautiful! My cats are eating them! Does anyone else have this problem? Do you have a remedy for keeping the kitties off your plants? I had to move my plants into my bedroom and keep my door closed to keep the cats from munching on them. Can anyone give me any help? Thanks!

Sorry that the cats are eating your Bamboo Plants. I don't have any cats, but my plants were being eaten also by my fish. Your solution is the best thing I would suggest. I put a divider in my fish tank, so the plants could grow.

Hi Fishmomma, thanks for responding. What kind of fish do you have? I have two tanks, a 30 gallon and a 10. My goldfish, some are Koi, love to eat plants so I put only artificial in the tank. I bought a divider at one time and the darned fish busted around it and got the plants anyway! I'm glad it's working for you. I am going to try some of the remedies that others wrote, like a cat spray repellant. Take care, let me know what kind of fish you have if you don't mind, I enjoy aquariums and fish stories...

My roomie gave me a lucky bamboo after my surgery in 05. Inspite of my black thumb I was keeping them alive until I had to take them out of the cat free zone. They didn't last the night! The cats thought they were YUMMY!!!!!!

So, you understand my frustration...cats love some plants. I have a few plants that they do not bother but they gave the Bamboo plants a fit! Thanks for the response and good luck with your Bamboo plants. Your roomie was nice to give you the Lucky Bamboo, how thoughtful...take care...

Oh, they are history. Frankly, if it isn't outside, it's pretty much cat food! I have to be careful never to bring in a plant that might be poisonous because my cats think anything green MUST be chewed!

at your local pet stores, ask for a product called Bitter Apple Spray. it tastes just like its name implies and Most animals hate that flavor. lightly spray it on your plants. that should take care of the problem..unless you happen to have cats the LIKE that flavor LOL!
