Contact lenses : SOFT lenses or RIGID GAS PERMEABLE (RGP) lenses?

I first started off with wearing soft lenses. Later, I switched to RGP lenses. These give really good visual quality and are even easier to maintain than soft lenses.
Usually, I can wear them for more than 10 hours a day too. Thereafter, I'd get home, take them off and put on my glasses.
Which do you wear? Which is your preference? Please share your stories. Thanks.

Hi, I think it would be best to see a optometrist. They would be able to advise you on which would be best for your needs.

Right now I'm on soft lenses but I find putting them in a huge hassle! I have really small eyes and long lashes so it's really troublesome when the lens hits something and folds :( I wish I could switch to hard lenses because they're easier to put in and they allow more oxygen to reach the eyes, but they're quite pricey and I've heard lots of horror stories about them shattering in your eyes and the nasty liquid you have to bring around to prevent yourself from going blind when that happens. I'm quite accident-prone and absent-minded :/ Definitely going for lasik when I'm 21.

I have been wearing lenses for more than 15 years now. I started off with Hard lenses (those were the ones more available and in use then), it was tough getting used to them, but once the initial hitch was over, I was fine with them. Had some trouble with them in windy or dusty climate. A few years later, shifted to semi-soft lenses, they were ok, somewhere in between, i wasn't too comfortable in them. 4 years back i switched to soft lenses and have been on them since. Now i know what real comfort is. Use them for 1o-12 hours a day and then wear glasses. I do hear about health hazard to the eye on wearing contact lenses for a many many years but haven't had the courage to go for a la sic eye surgery.
