Jihad: The Sixth Deadly Pillar Of Islam

All muslims and even non muslims are aware of the five pillars of Islam but Muslims maintain silence about the sixth pillar which they must perform as Muslims.
AT-TAWBA 29
Fight those who do not believe in Allah, nor in the latter day, nor do they prohibit what Allah and His Messenger have prohibited, nor follow the religion of truth, out of those who have been given the Book, until they pay the tax in acknowledgment of superiority and they are in a state of subjection.
AT-TAWBA 5
So when the sacred months have passed away, then slay the idolaters wherever you find them, and take them captives and besiege them and lie in wait for them in every ambush, then if they repent and keep up prayer and pay the poor-rate, leave their way free to them; surely Allah is Forgiving, Merciful.
and yet the same qur'an claims it is not a religion of compulsion
AL-BAQARA 256
There is no compulsion in religion; truly the right way has become clearly distinct from error; therefore, whoever disbelieves in the Shaitan and believes in Allah he indeed has laid hold on the firmest handle, which shall not break off, and Allah is Hearing, Knowing.
And because of the reward of 72 virgins with self regenerating hymen, many are killed at the shout of Allah akbar. Or is it a misinterpretation by muslims?

Most practicing Muslims cling to the Five Pillars. The Kharijite groups or factions of the true Islam teach that the jihad, or war, is the 'sixth'. Whereas Jihad referred to a war or struggle, in modern times it is often associated with a holy war or battle against anyone not following the Islamic faith. That does not mean that Muslims embrace this, most do not but the extremists of splinter cell religions do and that gives true Islam a very, very bad name.
