Oh Elic, she is so cute! I miss having cats around, hubby and one of my children have allergies to them. She looks like the kind I would adopt in a heartbeat if I could. When I was younger, I use to save many cats from the vet's needle. My mother was always yelling at me about bring home another one but she never stopped me and they always stayed until we could find them a loving home with someone that would treasure then as I did. I think it is great that you took her in and spend the time to feed her and care for her. Have you named her, or did I miss that discussion?

Its right there in the title of the discussion, Pearl. Roomie's undecided if it should be Mini Pearl or P(earl) Grey

lol I thought you were just saying she was a pearl, you know like a gem. Gosh my face is red now! It is a perfect name for her though!

She looks so small, Elic. I'm surprised she doesn't want the formula.

She is very small, but the vet thinks she's 4 rather than 3 weeks. I know we had a hard time getting Oliver switched off the bottle & I also know that older kittens have a hard time taking the bottle. I think she might go for formula if she can learn to lap - it took tuna water to get Oliver to drink like a normal cat!

If I can recall, and this was bout 11yrs. ago, when I weaned Lightning off the bottle to make it easier for me, I would just put a jar lid on the floor with a bit of formula in it and let him figured out himself how to lap it up. I would give him a certain amount of formula in the bottle but he would still be hungry enough to eventually learn to lap the rest of his meal from the jar lid. Might want to try that with Pearl. Don't give her the full meal like she's used to and then put a lil bit of formula in a jar lid. Depending on how eager she is will determine how long it takes her to learn to lap. Lightning was a lil piggy so took him a full day of being a lil hungry to learn to lap. After that, he preferred his jar lid to the bottle.

Pearl is a small 4 week old. Too young to be adopted yet. But she thinks she's a big girl!

Thanks for the picture. She is so tiny and adorable. I would want to keep her.:) My cat had kittens years ago and I had such a hard time letting them go.

I know, but I've just got too many! I hadn't planned on keeping Oliver, but after bottle feeding & all, I just couldn't let him go. But that was before we had more than 20 cats!

Now, Pye, surely you have figured out that my roomie & I are science fiction fans. In fact, we met when she called in a pledge for a Doctor Who marathon on our local PBS & asked to join the club that was manning the phones, I was the president of the club.

She is too adorable. And so tiny! She's very lucky to be in such a good loving home. I hope when she is ready that she gets a very kind and caring family to live with. Thanks for posting the pic hon.

Isn't she. that's the roomie's hand and her hands are huge. But I like to think she's in good hands, both of ours.
