Comments on dicussions....

I try to comment on all my responses, but it is so hard. I don't want people to think that I am being unkind. Sometimes, it is so hard to keep up on them and sometimes, I have to let them go.

yes, i comment on all the reponses which i get on the discussion which i start, i always try to do it because i think it's good. i just saw the FAQ a few days ago and i read that you should not thanks the poster for replying, so if there are senseless comments, i don't say thanks, i just say that please clarify what you are saying

I try to respond to everyone responses.Sometimes members has said the same thing as other members but not intentionally thats when i find myself repeating myself and sometimes i will only say thankyou but i do add something to the thank you.

Ofcourse I do comment when someone respond to my discussion. Its is good ways of interaction with the people. But I comment only when it interest me otherwise not. If you have time and the inclination, go ahead and comment on all. Otherwise you might selective comment on the better written ones - especially those where effort is evident. If you really don't feel like doing it, why, then don't comment. It would be flattering when someone notices you never comment back and start posting discussions about you. Or, just don't post any discussions.

i give them all responses, cause i felt bad too if i responded to a discussion and not even response back, if it is foul or senseless- i give response and say thank you - maybe for the effort, we should give them all response cause it is a good way of appreciating their efforts to give you their own side, it's like a mirror of them you would know tem more through the response they give, just be patient...it's still the best to give responses...thanks..

i think we should not be judgemental with the replies we get nor is giving negative rating the right thing to do. i think mylot should take off the negative marking. we pose ourselves as friends here we discuss, respond and of course enjoy then whats the point or need for a negative rating. well when someone is giving u senseless replies u can point out tht their reply is not suited for the discussion or to be humourous equally giive a more semseless reply.

I try to- I find it very time consuming- that is why I respond far more than I post new discussions- I feel bad if I don't comment on people's responses- after all they took the time to share with my their opinions- If it is a response that makes no sense or doesn't stay on topic- I just skip it- I don't rate negatively.

Hello,gpraveenkumar5 ,due to the limitation of time,sometimes i may not be able to give comment to all the replies, i will try hard not to leave anyone out,if i have longer replies ,probably i will give them a longer comment because i get more things to say,if they give me short replies,i may give them short comment as well. I will not say thank you,i will try to find something too add or conclude their replies. May be it is against diuscussion rules by just saying thank you,if they have really read the replies,it is ok,but the problem is we will not know whether out replies have been read by the members. It depends on the responses. I do read and rate all responses. However, I do comment on them if there is something for me to comment on when I read the responses. At times, the comment may not be forthcoming, but on revisit, I may add something to it. All responses to my discussion automatically gets a plus rating unless the response is made with an intent to undermine. For senseless responses, I may comment senselessly if I can do it tastefully. Any response with less than 10 sensible words are not rated too.

I comment on everyone normally. If it is a nonsense comment, I usually write something like "thanks I think" or maybe "I think you have gotten the wrong discussion" etc. If I know it is someone spamming the same thing, I report it. Sometimes, I find some people lack the english skills to be able to really elaborate, so I just respond in kind. I try not to be negative to anyone ever.

hi there...firstly i wud like to tell u i was thinking of this as a discussion topic too..i cud have made to the top discussions...lolzz...neways thats not the point...yeas i must admit sometimes i also get senseless comments...if they are in some way sarcastic and said totally unaware of the topic of discussion i do reply in negative way...i try to respond to good responses for appreciation which i think is important...i also try to give reasons to responses that might disagree with the discussion topic...i think it is impossible for us to comment on all of the replies...so i use the above formulae...hope u find it useful....and dont forget to comment on this one....just kidding...take care....bye

I try to comment on all the responses I recieve but it really depends on how much time I have! I always say thank you, even if it is a one line comment! I enjoy MyLot and all it's members, the different syles of writing does not bug me a bit...It is the time that they take to respond to my discussions that has me responding....But hey, if you don't want to respond to your comments, thats completly up to you....

I comment on some of the responses I get, but I do not comment on them all. I really only do it if there is something that I want to add or actually have some sort of reason to reply. A lot of stuff people says doesn't really seem to require anything back, and then there are those that make no sense and who wants to waste their time with those?

I do not do it every day. I do try to get the plus and minuses put in though, but I do not know what the explanation is for. However when it comes to idiotic comments, that make absolutely sense and are no doubt made by people who figure the most selections they can get on, the more money they make. Anyway these people do deserve a minus and that is what they get. They also deserve a curt comment which probably would not work because their brain is fill of sawdust.
