The pregnant woman can work till the time of birth of baby, but it should be odd jobs not the streneous jobs. And also there is need to relax now and then. Hence she should not be going to job after 7th or 8th month. Then onwards should be taking care of 2 person's health.
Her activity should be confined to;
Eat well (nutritious food, protein based foods),
Sleep well -
Exercise - there are some special exercises for pregnant woman
Drink water
Listen to pleasant things
Read good books (avoid horror, violent etc.)
Meditate
Chit chat with parents and friends.
Do not get excited, do not quarrel, do not cry, do not lift heavy stuff.
There are 1001 dos and don'ts for pregnant woman and if followed, the delivery wiill be smooth without any complication.

I think it's ok. Shouldn't affect baby but mother will still nede to take regular breaks. However, I went for jobs while I was pregnant and no one would employ me because I would have been leaving again fairly soon anyway!
