Do You Like To Garden Or Do You Leave Your Gardening To Others?

I have to admit that I don't really enjoy gardening, and I envy those who do enjoy it and that can spend hours in their garden. I do what I can in the Spring and plant some flowers in pots to brighten up my back and front yard, but beyond that I have no green thumb. Instead I have a gardener who comes periodically to neaten up my garden and trim the grass. Do you like gardening and do you do all your own? I used to have a vegetable garden, but no more. My husband took care of that and he long since gave up on it as it took so much time. Do you have a vegetable garden and if so what kind of vegetables do you grow? My favorites when we did have a garden were the tomatoes and the zucchini.

I love gardening, whenever I get a chance to go to our summer house by the river I spend hours in setting up the flowers and planting new ones and cutting the grass, it's such fun to do...

I enjoy the challenges of gardeningand seeing the rewards at the end of the season. I have a fairly large yard that allows me to grow a variety of plants but I don't have enough light to grow many vegetables. I try to grow easy flowers like daliahas and marigolds but I would sure like to try some more exotic varieties. Does anyone have any suggestions as they would be greatly appreciated.

I really love gardens I still remember when I was young when were still living in the province my mom loves to plant different kinds of vegetable. But unfortunalely when we moved in the city and our house has no backyard I missed my moms garden. Up to now I really wish to have a garden of my own I love flowers like orchidds with different kinds of color.

Well my garden is more of tropical plants and orchids, these plants have specific need when it comes to watering fertilizer and light, when it comes to tending them I like to landscape them in a way they would look like in the wild but much more neater ofcourse. I have my own technique of tending to my gardens so I never let anyone else work on them unless I tell them to or when Im too busy but even them I give them very specific instruction and warn them never to do anything less or more than what I have said. One wrong move will be detrimental for my plants so I never even trust my girl with them "She understands the orchids are very fragile after all and she likes how I tend to them and make them flower everymonth"

I'm sorta half and half. I like to have a small garden but dont care for the digging and tilling. So what I do is get some lamdscaping timbers and form the rectangle, dump in 5-6 bags of miracle-gro garden soil and plant. Hardly any weeds to speak of and my tomatoes are growing like gangbusters this year. A lazy mans garden if there ever was one.

I love gardening. My husband however will not dig up part of the lawn for a vegetable garden but at the corner of our fence we have a raspberry patch with some strawberries I bought a few years ago. I am always going out and weeding it, and watching for the birds. Now the neighbor next door has a door, and he is a rapper so that scares off the birds. However I will have to get some netting as we would rather eat the strawberries and raspberries and not have the birds eat them. They should spend more time eating the worms before they ruin our apples.

I'm not much for gardening either. It always sounds like a really good idea to start....but then I realize how much work I'm getting myself into and I change my mind really quick.I keep some flowers in pots on the back porch and I have two rosebushes in the yard.....but that's as far as my gardening goes. The one thing I do like to grow are tomatoes.....but I don't have to have a garden for them.....because they do great in a large planter.

I love gardening but the sad part is that I am not a good gardener. There are very few plants that survive or stay healthy which I grow. My sister is quite good at it and I envy her.

Sadly I can not grow a garden, not even if my life depended on it. I have tried several different time only to end up with the same results. I think that qualifies me as insane (doing the same thing over and over again expecting different results) lol. I ahve tried to grow vegetables only to have nothing come up. I have tried to grow flowers, at least those will have shoots come up but never a flower. I do not have a green thumb at all, unless you count the time when I colored it green lol. I wish I could grow my own veggies, I love having them fresh but hate having to spend the money. I would love to have colorful flowers around my home but can never seem to get it until I found a way to cheat. I went to Wal-mart and bought a lot of fake colorful flowers and "planted" them. Now I ahve bright colored flowers and I don't have to worry about them dying. I do week my "garden" when it needs it but if I accidently pull a flower, I can just shove it back in lol. As far as taking care of the grass, my son or I mow when it needs it. My son loves to use the weed wacker so I let im have that job. He has gotten good at it and also does the neighbor's for $10 each time. I think my son will have better luck growing a garden if he puts his mind to it.

I love to garden. If I was able I would be out there today making my flower bed bigger. I fell the other day and I am really sore. I cant do much of anything right now. I will be fine it will just take a little time. I am also on pain meds so if I say or spell something wrong forgive me! It doesn't take much to make me really loopy. I cant seem to keep my grass looking all that nice but my flowers look great. I am sure it is because I refuse to water grass it just seems really stupid and a waist of water. Maybe if you planted a few perennials that come back year after year you could hide your aversion of gardening.
