How Long did your mouse last before you replaced it

I have had scores of mice and with the regular ball type mice, the longest one lasted was a year. The least time for one was about three months. It was a cheap one and I believe the tiny wires inside the cord cut. I then, or rather my husband got me an optical mouse when they were new. This lasted a little over six years. It got dust through the little indentation and started going all over the monitor. I now got a Lazar mouse that works fine and has no indentation to gather dust and a long enough cord. How long did your mouse last before replacing it?

I was using a scroll ball mouse a long time ago and I used it like 6 months before I replaced it and I bought a new very cheap one and it was scroll ball mouse too I am not sure exactly how long it did but I think it was like 4 months I think I would be fixed that mouse but I am so lazy to fix cheap computer parts so I bought another one this time it was a optical mouse and I am using I like 7 month and in the button it have mark my fingers on it but it is working really good I think the moue problem are the wire or the ball since It don't have a ball on it I don't have to care for that, the another thing is the wire, I think I will try don't break the wire and I will continue working fine, I think the problem with the cord cut would be avoid if I bought a wireless mouse but there is the thing of batteries and it is very expensive in my country. I mean the wireless mouse one.

Even though we cleaned the scroll ball mouse, it still broke down and my optical mouse lasted a little over six years. It could have been the wire inside breaking and I suspect it is because I am left-handed and when my son came over, he switched it to right-handed, so the movement may have damaged one of the little wires in the cord. Thanks for your response.

Now this is hard to say I have been using the same logitech keyboard and mouse combo for the last 5 years and it is still working great. If you treat the stuff correctly it will last a long time.

I have had this mouse for six years. Its a microsoft ball mouse, it has two buttons, left and right and a grey scroll wheel in the middle. Its a ps2 connection and is still going strong. I recently bought a optical mouse but i changed back to this one because i found the optical mouse too light and i prefer this mouse for playing my online games. Although im sure one day i will make the change to optical.

How does your mouse fail you? I have never had to replace my mouse, my scroll mouse lasted for 2 years then I got an optical mouse (not because the old one had stopped functioning but because I wanted to try the optical mouse) from samsung that I have been using for the last 4 years. It works just fine.
